MCO Foundation(Mahler Chamber Orchestra)

The Foundation serves to promote art and culture in the field of music, also in connection with other art forms. The purpose of the Foundation is in particular to raise funds for the promotion of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra gGmbH or its legal successors (hereinafter referred to as MCO gGmbH) as well as tax-privileged purposes of other tax-privileged corporations or corporations under public law. Grants may be made in the form of institutional or project funding. The Foundation may also realise its purpose by providing financial support for other measures and projects that serve the purpose of the Foundation and that are realised by private-law corporations recognised as tax-privileged or by public corporations. This includes, among other things
– the promotion of exemplary projects for the presentation of music,
– the promotion of measures aimed at opening up new ways of communicating music, introducing people to music or enabling people to encounter music,
– the promotion of artistic development and further training, for example by awarding scholarships or sponsorship prizes,
– the organisation and promotion of conferences, congresses, seminars and other events that serve the purposes described in paragraph 1,
– the organisation and promotion of education, training and further education measures that serve the purposes described in paragraph 1,
– the purchase and provision of musical instruments,
– the promotion of projects that are likely to lead to international
international encounters between musicians and international cultural and artistic exchanges.
The purpose of the Foundation is also to publicise the Foundation’s concerns in an appropriate form, to encourage willingness to support the Foundation’s work financially and to raise contributions to the Foundation’s assets. The Foundation’s sphere of activity is not limited to Germany.
