The Maison Jacques Copeau is a unique HERITAGE PLACE. Jacques Copeau (1879-1949), a great French reformer and pedagogue of the 20th century theatre lived and worked there from 1925 to 1949. The history of Copeau and his troupe is inseparable from that of contemporary theatre, in France but also in the United Kingdom and the United States. It continues to inspire many creators. Today, this beautiful residence houses a CULTURAL PROJECT closely linking the promotion of heritage, the hosting of artists in residence, the support of young artists, professional training, and educational projects. Supported by a non-profit association, the house is strongly established in a rural area, in the heart of the prestigious Climats de Bourgogne, listed as a UNESCO world heritage site. The association is preparing to implement an ambitious renovation project to safeguard this unique heritage and better welcome artists and visitors.
