The main purpose of the Fundación PRASAD España is “to promote and carry out development cooperation programs, in particular humanitarian aid” (according to Article 6.a) of its Bylaws). (according to paragraph a) of Article 6 of its Bylaws).
Since its incorporation in 2003, the purpose of the Fundación Prasad has been to help vulnerable people lead self-sufficient and dignified lives by raising funds for PRASAD Chikitsa’s programs of sustainable community development, health care, women’s empowerment, agriculture, and education in India.
PRASAD Chikitsa is a sister organization based in Ganeshpuri in the state of Maharashtra in India, founded in 1994 to address the needs of the indigenous Adivasi community in the rural areas of the Tansa Valley (an area of about 20 km. around the town of Ganeshpuri, with 360 villages and a population of about 200,000 people).
In addition, Fundación PRASAD raises funds to support the humanitarian aid programs of other entities dealing with natural and health disasters in the areas of our competence. This aid is carried out in collaboration with The PRASAD Project at the international level and PRASAD Chikitsa in India.
Fundación PRASAD España is represented in the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations, as it is a licensee of The PRASAD Project, which has Special Consultative Status at the United Nations.
