The Haydn Orchestra was established in 1960 both as a regional reference point for listening and music education and as an ambitious project to integrate Trentino-Alto Adige into European and international cultural networks.
Fondazione Haydn di Bolzano e Trento aims to contribute to the dissemination and elevation of musical culture in the provinces of Bolzano and Trento.
In particular, to achieve this aim, Fondazione Haydn di Bolzano e Trento:
– manages the Haydn professional stable orchestra and continuously carries out music, opera and dance production and distribution programmes in the two provinces;
– manages or participates in other initiatives such as festivals, music reviews, competitions, artistic exchanges and musical events in general;
– collaborates with local public institutions and other bodies pursuing similar aims, in particular with initiatives aimed at developing music education in young people
– promotes and organises studies and research;
– in order to enhance the value of its orchestra and artistic programming, it promotes audiovisual productions and also organises concert and opera tours outside the two provinces and in foreign countries, also through exchanges with similar Italian and foreign institutions.
