Recognized as being of public utility by decree on March 11, 2002, the Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson is committed to sharing the work of its two founding artists, Henri Cartier-Bresson and Martine Franck, through the organizing of exhibitions in France and around the world. Dedicated to research and transmission, it now preserves Henri Cartier-Bresson and Martine Franck’s archives.

For twenty years, the Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson has established itselfs as a leading photographic institution, thanks to its unique exhibition programme featuring its own collection and the work of other artists, including renown photographers as well as emerging talents. The Fondation is actively supporting research and contemporary photographic practices by granting several grants and awards as the Martine Franck Curatorial Research Grant, the Henri Cartier-Bresson Creation Award and the Henri Cartier-Bresson Self-Published PhotoBook Award.
