Verein Anyvida

Tierhilfe Tirana is the animal-welfare project of the Swiss non-profit association ANYVIDA. It rescues, treats and rehomes street animals in Albania — one of Europe’s poorest countries. Founded by Maria Cristina Medina-Casanova, who established the first animal shelter in Albania, it provides shelter, veterinary care and daily feeding to injured, sick and abandoned dogs, as well as horses, donkeys and mules. Our core work rests on three pillars: rescuing and medically treating animals in need, neutering and vaccinating to reduce suffering at its root rather than only treating symptoms, and finding responsible adoptive homes. Animals that cannot be rehomed because of disability or age are cared for permanently. Beyond individual rescue, we work to build lasting local structures and to raise awareness for animal welfare in Albania. The association ANYVIDA is a recognised non-profit financed entirely through donations.
