About

The purpose of the Memorial, as conscribed in our statutory documents, is
– To preserve, teach and transmit the memory and history of the Holocaust;
– To conserve and make available the documentary heritage composed of archives, books, periodicals and photographs collected since 1943;
– To enrich the broader documentary heritage related to the history of Jews in Europe, including the consequences of the Holocaust in contemporary society;
– To transmit, disseminate and teach the history of the Holocaust to young generations and train members of society to transmit this history;
– To carry out research on the underlying and deep-rooted causes of antisemitism and its political consequences
– To address in relation to the Holocaust, genocides and mass atrocity crimes in contemporary society.
