Les Rencontres Musicales

Les Rencontres Musicales is a non-profit association founded on 13 February 2026 by students of EDHEC Business School in Roubaix, France. Its purpose is to make high-level classical music more accessible — particularly to younger generations — and to turn it into a genuine space for encounter, transmission and sharing between artists, students, cultural professionals, local authorities, companies and residents of the territory.

This mission is embodied through Les Concertantes, a distinctive concert series held at the EDHEC Business School auditorium, which brings together three complementary elements at each event: an introductory talk by a cultural professional, a platform for an emerging young artist, and a concert performed by internationally or nationally renowned musicians. The organisation pursues two connected goals: democratising access to classical music and world-class artists among young audiences, and giving emerging artists a professional stage alongside established performers. Beyond programming concerts, the association also aims to contribute to the cultural influence of the Lille metropolitan area, support the professional development of the student volunteers who run it, and — from the 2026-2027 season onward — extend cultural mediation to school groups, people with disabilities, and audiences typically distant from classical music through the new “Concertantes Scolaires.”
