Espace de l’Art Concret

+ more than 30 000 visitors a year, including more than 8,800 children and young people

Created in 1990, the Espace de l’Art Concret (eac.) is a contemporary art centre of national interest with a collection of abstract art, the only one of its kind in France, the Albers-Honegger Donation.

The reputation of this incomparable venue has earned it the recognition and support of the Ministry of Culture, Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Regional Department of Cultural Affairs, the South Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, the Alpes-Maritimes department and the town of Mouans-Sartoux.

The eac. develops its artistic, cultural and educational activities around three complementary missions:

– The conservation and promotion of the Albers-Honegger collection;
– A research mission, based around temporary exhibitions and artists’ residencies, which enable links to be forged between the works in the collection and contemporary creation;
– An educational mission, through the mediation of exhibitions and practical art workshops,
In 2008, the eac. was awarded the ‘European Prize for Cultural Projects’ by the European Cultural Foundation ‘Pro Europa’, in recognition of the European dimension of its project and its commitment to artistic education.

In 2020, the eac. was awarded the ‘Label Centre d’Art Contemporain d’Intérêt National’ by the French Ministry of Culture.

In 2020, the eac. was awarded the ‘Qualité Tourisme’ label by the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
