Verein Arunachala Rising Sun

The association Arunachala Rising Sun (ARS) is a Swiss non-profit organization based in Winterthur that supports disadvantaged communities in the Tiruvannamalai region of Tamil Nadu, India. The primary purpose of the organisation is to finance and promote charitable initiatives in the fields of education, upbringing, health care and support for self-help, with the goal of enabling underprivileged people to build sustainable and dignified lives and livelihoods.

ARS focuses particularly on children, young people, women, and families who have limited access to educational opportunities, health services and social support. By strengthening these foundations, the organisation aims to create long-term improvements in living conditions and future prospects.

The association operates on a strictly non-profit basis. It is politically and religiously neutral and functions independently from commercial interests.
