The primary purpose of Stay Close is to make proximity possible for family members and informal caregivers of hospitalised patients, particularly in situations involving long-term or intensive care such as paediatric oncology.
Stay Close believes that proximity is essential to both patient recovery and caregiver wellbeing. When a loved one is hospitalised far from home, families often face significant financial, logistical, and emotional barriers that prevent them from staying nearby. These challenges increase stress, isolation, and exhaustion, negatively impacting both caregivers and patients.
To address this, Stay Close builds and coordinates a network of volunteer host families who offer temporary, safe, and welcoming accommodation close to hospitals. Through a secure digital platform and a strong community-based approach, Stay Close matches caregivers with host families, provides guidance and follow-up, and ensures trust, safety, and quality support for all parties involved.
