ArtCinema Greece, a newly established female-founded and led non-profit, was inaugurated in Athens in 2024. As a pan-European cultural platform at the intersection of film, art, and creativity, it supports emerging independent artists and filmmakers through year-round educational workshops and funding initiatives with industry leaders, arts organisations, foundations, patrons and financiers. Our vision is to create a sustainable, year-round Audiovisual Hub of innovation on the Greek island of Hydra, implementing a “glocal” strategy that also empowers local communities.
ArtCinema also launched an annual immersive 3-day international event, ArtCinema Hydra, celebrating the worlds of art and cinema through a shared community experience. We are committed to building an inclusive hub that enhances Hydra’s global reputation as a cherished artists’ sanctuary – one that nurtures creativity, innovation, fosters meaningful connections, and preserves its unique car-free environment.
