Every day, 1.3 million kg of plastic ends up in our oceans. Seven times more — around 10 million kg — ends up in nature and rivers each day. What started with a 10 minute cleanup in 2017 grew to a global movement of +300000 volunteers in 101 countries, recovering 3,7 million kg of river waste. In 2022 we designed our highly-scalable Theory of Change (Clean River Model) focussing on empowering people, preventing pollution and accelerating change. We are validating the Clean River Model locally in 2025-2026 before scaling it to 100 rivers by 2030 and 1000 rivers by 2050.
