Vereint Für Wälder e.V.

We are Vereint für Wälder e.V./the United for Forest Association, an environmental NGO, which has in the last four years positioned themselves at the interface of the electronic music industry and nature conservation in the global south. We believe that the enormous carbon footprint of nightlife, stemming from frequent flying of touring artists, places a heavy burden on the inexplicable joy of a steaming dancefloor. At the same time, financial means for nature and biodiversity conservation are often lacking in places where they are needed the most. In the last years we have therefore operated a pilot project that calculated the carbon footprint of 12 electronic music artists to mobilise more than 70.000€ in donations for supporting a community based forest conservation project of 100 hectare in Ecuador. By bridging these two worlds we want to increase awareness in the industry, mobilise funding for nature conservation and stimulate climate action.
