Estia Agios Nikolaos in Galaxidi is the only life sharing community in Greece where adults with intellectual disabilities live, work and spend their free time together with their caregivers. It was established in 1993 by Kurt and Doris Eisenmeier, the founders of two pioneering centers in Germany, who dedicated the proceeds from the sale of a family business to also create a community in Greece.
Inclusion in every aspect of life is the fundamental Purpose of ESTIA. Each member, with or without disability, enriches the community in his/her own way.
The guiding Values, formed by the community itself, are Love, Empathy, Acceptance, Respect and Tolerance, in order of priority.
