Lesvos Solidarity (LESOL) is a grassroots organisation whose primary purpose is to provide holistic support to displaced populations and vulnerable local residents on Lesvos Island. LESOL provides safe shelter, psychosocial support, education, skills training and employability pathways, enabling individuals to regain their agency. Its work is grounded in principles of human rights, social justice and solidarity.
LESOL understands solidarity as a daily practice of commoning: creating shared spaces where refugees, migrants and local residents live, learn and act together. Through everyday practices of cooperation, care and mutual support, LESOL nurtures new forms of belonging and a sense of home and community
LESOL advocates for a solidarity-based model and its people believe in an open society free of racism, fascism and discrimination, where every person regardless of their origin, gender, identity, beliefs, has the right to safety, participation and a life lived with dignity.
