About

The primary purpose of the Survivors Fund (SURF) is to support survivors of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. The organisation is a registered charity in England and Wales, and is based in Kigali, and focuses on helping those who lived through the genocide by providing assistance as prioritised by the survivors themselves. This includes healthcare, education, and economic opportunities, as well as addressing issues such as trauma and justice. SURF aims to empower survivors and enable them to rebuild their lives and communities, ensuring they receive the necessary resources and support to overcome the lasting impacts of the genocide.
