The HOME Project (THP) is a nonprofit organization that cares for unaccompanied children whose families and lives are wrecked by war and persecution, empowering them to persevere and grow into active citizens.
THP rescues children from the streets, refugee camps, police stations, detention centers and welcome them in the safety of its shelters in Athens where they receive holistic child protection services including food, housing, material support, clothing, medical care, social, legal and psychological support.
At the heart of the organization is THP child protection model which is based on providing the following:
1. Α holistic network of child protection services guided by an individual development plan addressing the general and particular needs of each child, including physical and mental health, education, life skills, social and legal support
2. Employment for Greeks, migrants, and refugees, including HOME Project children reaching adulthood
3. A healing and inclusive environment in each shelter, and active engagement of the local community in order to cultivate social inclusion
