We empower smallholder farmers working alongside us to learn new skills and share knowledge so they can improve their livelihoods and thrive. Farmers working alongside Ripple Effect learn more, grow more and sell more. They can feed their families safe, nutritious foods and by having surplus to sell, they can invest in their farms, send their children to school and build sustainable agri-businesses.
After working with us, 75% of farmers achieve food security. They also gain increased household income and ability to adapt effectively to climate change. The farmers we work with become teachers and trainers themselves; sharing what they know with other farmers and creating a ripple effect of positive change across their communities.
For every family we work with, three more families in the community benefit. We have worked with 2.5 million people in rural Africa and have set a new goal to work with 5 million more people by 2030. This is an ambitious, but realistic target to expand our reach through new and expanded programmes, and by working more in partnership.
