The University of Cape Town Trust is a registered UK charitable trust which raises funds and support in Britain and in other parts of Europe for the University of Cape Town (UCT) in South Africa. It aims to help UCT build on its role as a world-class university in Africa, the leading research institution on the continent producing well-trained graduates to lead South Africa’s economic and social transformation.
The charitable objective for which the Trust was established and registered is the advancement of education at the University of Cape Town in such manner as shall be exclusively charitable according to the law of England and Wales and as the Trustees may from time to time (and with the approval of the Council of the University of Cape Town) determine.
